TEHRAN - The draw ceremony for the Under-17 Boys’ World Volleyball Championship has been completed, and Iran’s men’s volleyball team now know their group-stage opponents.
The draw for the Under-17 Boys’ World Volleyball Championship was held with the participation of 20 teams, and the Iranian national team was grouped with Chinese Taipei, Pakistan and Algeria.
Given the withdrawal of four teams from the U.S., Czech Republic, Puerto Rico and Japan from participating in the Under-17 World Championship, the new draw for the tournament was held in Doha on Saturday, and the Iranian volleyball team was placed in Group V with the teams of Chinese Taipei, Pakistan and Algeria.
According to the new draw, the teams will compete in the preliminary round in five groups of four teams as follows:
Group A: Qatar, Tunisia, France and Venezuela
Group B: Italy, Cuba, India and Romania
Group C: Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Poland
Group D: Spain, Egypt, Bulgaria and Turkey
Group E: Iran, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan and Algeria.
