Leader’s Office: Media Claims About President’s Letter ‘Completely False’
TEHRAN — The office of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has categorically denied social media claims regarding his reaction to a letter from President Masoud Pezeshkian, warning that such fabrications are aimed at sowing division in society.
“Recently, some quotes attributed to the Eminent Leader have been circulating on social media that, unfortunately, have laid the groundwork for public confusion and created discord in society,” the Public Relations Office of the Leader’s office said in a statement.
The office stressed that the only official sources for news and statements related to the Leader are his official
website and the office for the preservation and publication of the Leader’s works, adding that “any content published outside this framework is invalid and lacks authenticity”.
“Claims published in cyberspace in which an individual has alleged something about the Supreme Leader’s reaction to the President’s letter are completely false and baseless,” the statement said.
The statement emphasized that the Leader has consistently called for preserving the “sacred unity” and respecting “diligent officials and servants of the Islamic system, especially the respected government”.
It warned that “material that contradicts the Leader’s recommendations by causing disunity in society and paving the way for false accusations against officials serves the goals of the enemies”.
The denial came hours after President Pezeshkian, marking the second anniversary of his presidency, explicitly rejected resignation rumors and dismissed claims of a rift with the Leader.
“If I wanted to resign, I would announce it officially. I will not resign; I will stand firm,” Pezeshkian said in a video statement. He added: “They want to create a rift, claiming the Leader says one thing and we say another”.
