Iraq PM Reaffirms Ties With Iran in Talks With Pezeshkian
BAGHDAD (Dispatches) -- Iraq’s Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi on Wednesday offered condolences to Iran over the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei during a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in the holy city of Najaf, according to Iraq’s state news agency INA.
Al-Zaidi said relations between Baghdad and Tehran remain strong and expressed his condolences to the Iranian government and people over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei. Pezeshkian is accompanied by Mohseni Qomi, deputy for international affairs at the Office of the Supreme Leader, as well as Iran’s foreign and interior ministers and the deputy speaker of parliament.
