A Time to Remember Courage and Compassion
Salaam dear young friends, hope you are all doing well by the Grace of Almighty Lord.
The blessed month of Muharram fills the hearts of millions of devotees with love, remembrance, and devotion to the grandson and 3rd infallible successor of Prophet Mohammad (SAWA).
Imam Husain (AS) along with his companions and family members sacrificed everything in Karbala to protect the true teachings of Islam. Their courage continues to inspire people of every generation.
Muharram teaches us that telling the truth, helping those in need, respecting our parents, praying regularly, and standing against injustice are among the greatest acts of faith. Even children can follow the beautiful example of Imam Husain (AS) by being honest, kind, patient, and caring toward everyone.
As our young readers know, this year’s Muharram is especially significant for many people in Iran and around the world, because it comes at a time when they are mourning the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Funeral ceremonies were held in Tehran, Qom, and the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. Millions of people gathered to pay their respects and bid farewell to the martyred leader. He will be buried in the Haram of the eighth infallible successor of Prophet Mohammad (SAWA), Imam Reza (AS), in the holy city of Mashhad.
One remarkable aspect of the funeral was the significant number of teenagers and young adults born in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s in attendance. Many of these individuals grew up hearing the words and guidance of the martyred Leader and stood shoulder to shoulder with the early generations of the Revolution. This portrayed a continuation of its path and ideals.
Qom was not merely hosting a funeral procession; the city became a scene of devotion, loyalty, and national solidarity as millions took part in another historic chapter of the Islamic Revolution’s legacy. This farewell ceremony is expected to be remembered as a significant event in the world’s historical record.
From the early hours of Tuesday morning, the seven-kilometer route between the Holy Jamkaran Mosque and the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Fatima Ma’suma was filled from beginning to end with people gathered to bid their final farewell to the martyred leader.
May Allah bless all who remember Imam Husain (AS) with sincerity and grant peace to the departed souls. May the light of Karbala always guide us to become truthful, compassionate, and faithful Muslims.
That’s all for this week. Goodbye until next week!
