Global Nahj al-Balagha Congress Wraps Up in Isfahan
TEHRAN — The fourth International Congress on “The Path of Salvation, Nahj al-Balagha, and Alavid Governance” concluded at Islamic Azad University of Isfahan, drawing contributions from scholars across Iran and 30 other countries.
According to event organizers, more than 700 papers were submitted to the congress, of which 382 were accepted after academic review. Fifty papers were selected for oral presentation, and 13 authors were invited to deliver their work in specialized panel sessions.
Dr. Ali-Asghar Beigi, the congress secretary, emphasized the broad scholarly spectrum represented at the gathering. While most submissions came from Iranian researchers, papers also arrived from Russia, Indonesia, Iraq, Malaysia, and a range of other Muslim-majority nations.
The congress, which aims to explore contemporary applications of teachings found in the Nahj al-Balagha — a foundational text of Islamic political and ethical thought — convened discussions across nine academic fields, including political science, law, economics, management, psychology, education, media studies, jurisprudence, and civilizational studies.
More than 20 new academic and research works were unveiled on the sidelines of the event. Organizers described the congress as part of an ongoing effort to articulate models of governance inspired by Alavid principles and to translate the insights of the Nahj al-Balagha into practical frameworks for leadership within Islamic societies.
Scholars from Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and several European and African countries participated, exchanging views on themes including social justice, ethical leadership, and the role of the Nahj al-Balagha in debates over the future of Islamic civilization.
The congress closed with a formal ceremony recognizing distinguished researchers, outstanding papers, and contributors to the field.
The event was organized by Islamic Azad University of Isfahan (Khoorasgan Campus) in cooperation with the Nahj al-Balagha Research Center of Isfahan and several national academic and cultural institutions.
