15-Year-Old Iranian Table Tennis Player Beats Chinese Champion
TEHRAN - Teenage Iranian table tennis player Benyamin Faraji has triumphed over the world number two, Lin Shidong from China, in the 2025 Asian Table Tennis Championships.
The 15-year-old became the sensation of the international competitions held in Bhubaneswar, India, on Monday after he managed to crush Lin Shidong with a score of 3-2 in the quarterfinals.
The Iranian table tennis genius defeated Shidong despite the fact that the Chinese player was the world’s second-ranked player.
Faraji is currently the highest-ranked junior table tennis player globally.
Faraji won the second, third, and fifth games and lost the first and fourth games to finally create another surprise with a 3-2 victory. This promising tennis player had also defeated Wang Chuqin, the world’s first-ranked player and Olympic champion, in the same tournament last year.
