Hackers Expose 15 Israeli Military, Intelligence Figures
BEIRUT (Dispatches) -- A
pro-Palestinian hacker group called Handala has exposed the identities of 15 individuals involved in Israel’s military and intelligence sectors, revealing ongoing security vulnerabilities within the regime.
The group published the names on X, identifying people linked to the Israeli air force, technology infrastructure, and the secretive Unit 8200—known for electronic espionage, signal intelligence, code decryption, and cyber warfare.
The hackers warned the targeted individuals that they are being closely monitored. Among those named are Matan Shalev, with expertise in computer science and embedded programming, and Aviv Sidy, a backend developer for the Israeli Air Force specializing in drone command systems.
Others include Yana Chen, an electrical engineer with years of experience at the Israeli Air Force headquarters, and Maor Eini, a former Unit 8200 programmer and full stack team leader.
Additional exposed individuals include Harel Edrai, involved in embedded systems at Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, and Tzach Shurman, a management professional with AI development experience.
The list also features Jeryes Danial, a PhD candidate developing drone navigation algorithms; Ben Tubul, a marine electrician and drone navigation expert; and Dvir Sason, specializing in autonomous systems software.
Other names are Guy Cohen, with mechanical engineering and software development skills at Elbit Defense Systems; Yelena Samoilvich, a software engineer working on UAV flight control and anti-drone systems; and Alex Vilkomir, an FPGA and hardware design expert involved in drone communications.
Handala’s cyberattacks in recent months have targeted key Israeli military and intelligence facilities, resulting in leaks of sensitive military data, diplomatic communications, and classified information, highlighting significant cybersecurity weaknesses in the regime’s defenses.
