IRGC Commander: Iran Ready to Repel  Any Threat in  Persian Gulf

TEHRAN – The commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) declared that IRGC Navy units in the Persian Gulf are fully prepared to deliver a decisive response to any hostile actions on the sea or islands, reinforcing Tehran’s posture of deterrence.
Major General Muhammad Pakpour made the remarks during a visit to combat-operational units stationed on Iran’s Persian Gulf islands.
“If the enemies make any move in the sea and on the islands, they will receive a firm response,” he said, underlining that the units maintain “high combat readiness,” he said.
Pakpour drew on historical precedent, asserting, “As the Armed Forces brought the Zionist regime and the United States to their knees during the 12‑day imposed war, if the enemies carry out any move in the sea or on the islands, the IRGC Navy will respond with full readiness.” He added that the enemy “is afraid of the Iranian forces’ moral power and courage.”
The warning comes as Iran commemorates the anniversary of “True Promise II,” a retaliatory operation launched after a U.S.-backed Israeli strike in June that led to a 12-day war, which Tehran says caused more than 1,000 casualties.
Iranian forces during that confrontation targeted military and intelligence sites inside the “occupied territories,” citing a need to deter future aggression. Tehran has warned neighboring powers and external actors to tread cautiously.
