TEHRAN - The Iranian futsal team on Wednesday advanced to the final stage of the Asian Cup after thrashing Malaysia 4-0.
The Iranian team faced Malaysia in its third match in the qualifying stage of the Asian Cup, which is being hosted by Indonesia, and the match ended with the victory of Vahid Shamsai’s team.
The Persians, which had defeated Bangladesh 12-0 in its previous two matches and defeated the UAE 10-0 in the second match, played against Malaysia in the third match with the line-up of Saeed Momeni, Muhammad Hussein Derakhshani, Mehdi Mehdikhani, Masoud Yousef and Behrouz Azimi.
In this match, Mehdi Mehdikhani, Muhammad Hussein Derakhshani, Hussein Tayyibi and Ali Khalilvand scored for Iran, and the match ended with a score of 4-0 in favor of our country. The Iranian national futsal team advanced to the final stage of the AFC Asian Cup as the top scorer in Group G with 3 consecutive wins, scoring 26 goals and conceding no goals.
Mehdi Rostamiha, Hossein Sabzi, Hossein Tayyibi, Amirhossein Dehghani, Ali Khalilvand, Mehdi Karimi, Abolfazl Afzali, Amirhossein Gholami and Mohammadhossein Baziar are other players who will be present at the event. The Iranian national futsal team is in Group G of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers with Malaysia, Bangladesh and the UAE.
