Houthi: Qatar Attack Lesson for All Islamic Countries
SANA’A (Dispatches) —
Yemen’s Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik Houthi on Sunday sharply criticized recent moves by some European countries to recognize the State of Palestine, labeling these gestures as “symbolic and media-driven” without any real impact on stopping Israeli crimes.
In a televised address, Houthi said such “show actions” by these governments coincide with billions of dollars in financial support to Israel.
Al-Houthi further condemned many Arab states for failing to take meaningful action, stating, “The official position of many Arab regimes today has not even reached the level of positions of countries like Colombia, Spain, Venezuela, or South Africa.”
Highlighting the lack of concrete Arab measures, he said, “Arab countries have yet to adopt the most basic practical stance — cutting off military cooperation with the Zionist regime.”
He added that some of the richest and most powerful Arab countries stand alongside Israel and oppose those resisting it.
“Some Persian Gulf countries and other Arab regimes maintain intelligence cooperation with the Zionist regime, and some have explicitly adopted Israeli positions against the resistance fronts in Yemen, Gaza, and Lebanon, demanding disarmament of fighters in these areas,” al-Houthi said.
He warned that Israel’s attempts to break resistance in Gaza, Yemen, Lebanon, and Iran would only embolden it to target others, declaring that Israel “will undoubtedly turn to others who are fully prepared for defeat and collapse.”
Referring to Israel’s ongoing military aggression, al-Houthi said Israel continues its “path known as the ‘David Passage’ to reach the Euphrates River,” underlining its broader regional ambitions.
He strongly condemned Israel’s brutal campaign against the Palestinian people in Gaza, saying, “The Zionist enemy has revealed the level of its crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza, committing unprecedented savagery, treating women, children, the elderly, and youth in the worst possible manner.”
Al-Houthi warned that Israel’s conspiracies extend beyond Gaza to the vast resources of Persian Gulf countries. He stressed that Israel also covets the Islamic holy sites, with threats extending from Al-Aqsa Mosque to Mecca and Medina.
Addressing the recent Israeli attack on Qatar, al-Houthi described it as a “lesson for all Islamic countries, especially Persian Gulf states,” stressing that no security guarantees or considerations these countries relied on were respected.
He said the U.S. and Israel have doubled down on their “equation of aggression” after the Arab and Islamic summit in Qatar, asserting that their policy aims to expand the scope of attacks across the Islamic world.
“The only way to preserve the Islamic Ummah and its peoples is through serious and practical resistance against the Zionist regime on the ground,” al-Houthi emphasized.
The United States, he said, is perpetuating Israeli aggression, highlighting its use of veto power to block efforts to end attacks on Gaza.
“How can the Zionist regime refrain from its aggressive policies while enjoying full and unconditional support from the U.S.?” he asked.
He dismissed attempts at diplomatic resolutions, particularly concerning Syria, stating, “What is being discussed today about Syria in terms of security agreements with Israel will never secure the country.”
He warned that Israel does not value its regional allies, labeling them as “mercenaries” and asserting, “They are not even considered human beings by the Zionist regime.”
He called for unified, coordinated efforts among Muslims and Arabs against Israel, stating, “The real interests of all Muslims and Arab peoples lie in directing their positions and efforts in coordination against the Zionist enemy.”
Al-Houthi affirmed the resilience of the Yemeni people and their role within the broader Islamic resistance. “The Zionist enemy knows well that the Yemeni nation will not remain silent, and the new generation, like their ancestors, will play an effective role within the Islamic Ummah,” he said.
He asserted that efforts by the U.S., Israel, and their regional and domestic tools in Yemen have failed, warning they face heavy costs in their attempts to subdue the Yemeni people.
