EAEU, Iran Begin Work on Implementing Free Trade Agreement
TEHRAN - Director of the Trade Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Vladimir Serpikov has said the first meeting of the Committee on Trade in Goods was held within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Iran.
In the meeting, participants discussed the agenda the Joint Committee, which will take place on 24 September 2025. The focus will be on issues related to the implementation of the agreement, the state of mutual trade, the protection of the domestic market and the development of cooperation between the business communities of the two sides.
Particular attention was paid to the development of the Eurasian Agro-Express project, as well as the discussion of a draft roadmap for trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU and Iran.
‘The implementation of the agreement with Iran will be an effective tool for developing cooperation between our countries and will help unlock the existing trade potential,’ Vladimir Serpikov emphasized.
