Majlis Panel Approves Major Boost in Military Spending
TEHRAN – Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission approved a proposal to boost military spending in preparation for possible confrontation with the Zionist regime, spokesman Ebrahim Rezaei said. Drafted during Israel’s 12-day war of aggression against Iran in June, the plan mandates full allocation of the 2025 and remaining 2024 defense budgets. The Planning and Budget Organization and Oil Ministry are tasked with securing funds, while the Central Bank must provide up to €2 billion in zero-interest loans for urgent defense needs. The move aims to strengthen Iran’s Armed Forces against Israeli crimes and threats.
