Official: Non-Oil Exports From Gilan Province Grow 26%
TEHRAN - The governor of Gilan Hadi Haghshenas has reported that the exports of non-oil products from Gilan have grown by 26 percent in the last five months.
Haghshenas emphasized the Anzali Free Zone will ensure the expansion of exports and the improvement of the province’s economic situation.
Referring to the important border role of the city of Astara in Gilan province, he said, Astara has a special capacity for trade and transportation of goods. Gilan has a land and sea border, which can potentially transform the province’s foreign trade.
Emphasizing the need to utilize the infrastructure and facilities of the Anzali Free Zone, Haghshenas stated: Creating modern warehouses and silos, utilizing the province’s rail and maritime capacity, and strengthening transportation equipment will create a huge transformation in the field of exports, therefore investing in these sectors will not only facilitate trade but also contribute to the sustainable economic growth of the province.
