Iranian Rowers Finish With 6 Medals at Asian U-23 Championship

TEHRAN – Iranian rowing athletes ended their carrier at the Asian Youth and Under-23 Championship with 6 medals in Shenyang, China.
Mani Rahmani and Behrad Legarinejad finished second in the men’s youth doubles final, competing against opponents from China, Iraq, Japan, China Taipei and Uzbekistan, with a time of 6:26.46 minutes, and won the silver medal. In this competition, the representative of Chinese Taipei claimed first and China ranked third.
Parnia Imani and Soha Fakhri finished third in the women’s junior doubles final, competing against competitors from Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Chinese Taipei and Vietnam, with a time of 7:12.98, winning the bronze medal of the tournament. Representatives from Vietnam and Hong Kong finished first and second in this competition.
Saqi Maleki finished second in the women’s under-23 singles final, competing against competitors from Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Hong Kong, with a time of 7:45.18, winning the silver medal of the tournament. Representatives from Thailand came first and Kazakhstan came third in this competition.
Earlier, Soha Fakhri won the gold medal in the youth singles. Saqi Maleki and Mahna Hajhusseini won the silver medal in the women’s under-23 heavyweight doubles.
Abolfazl Satoti and Amirreza Abdoli also won a bronze medal in the under-23 heavyweight doubles, which was the first men’s rowing medal in this category.
Thus, the Iranian representatives’ record at the Asian Championships was closed with one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals.
