Farage Advisor: UK Should Regain Australia, Canada, India
LONDON (Dispatches) – An adviser to Nigel Farage, the leader of the UK’s Reform Party, has said that Britain would have been better off if it had remained neutral during World War II, rather than fighting against Nazi Germany.
Jack Anderton, used by Farage and others in Reform UK to boost their social media popularity, also said that the UK should not be supporting Ukraine in its current conflict with Russia.
Anderton, 23, ran Farage’s hugely successful TikTok account, where he now has 1.3m followers, before helping Luke Campbell become the Reform mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire. He has never been employed by Reform.
In a post on his personal blog, titled Britain Needs Change, Anderton envisioned a future world with “meritocracy” in which the UK could “regain” and develop its former colonies including Australia, Canada, South Africa, India, Cyprus, Fiji, Malta, Saint Lucia, Seychelles, the Bahamas, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Ireland and New Zealand.
Anderton’s personal blog also includes an entry from last year about what he called “a self-interested British foreign policy.”
In it, he argues that almost all the wars fought by British men in the last century were counterproductive to the UK’s interests, leading to the loss of the British Empire.
“Trillions of pounds of British taxes have been spent in foreign lands in the pursuit of ‘democracy’, ‘human rights’ and ‘doing what is right’,” the post said. “More than a million British lives have been lost since WWI in wars and battles that have never once been fought by British men, on this island.”
He writes in his blog that fighting in both world wars resulted in the UK’s decline, losing its status as a big power and being bullied around by the United States.
“We impoverished ourselves for decades, we didn’t finish paying the loans off to America until 2006. Our economy stagnated, we lost an empire, and we are pushed around by America. And Germany, a country we beat, has been richer than us since the 1970s.”
“Britain could have developed India, Cyprus, Fiji, Malta, Saint Lucia, Seychelles, the Bahamas, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, and New Zealand. In the coming meritocracy, perhaps Britain could regain some of these nations.”
Anderton adds in the same post on his blog that Russia is not the enemy of the UK, and by supplying aid to Ukraine, London is sending money it cannot afford.
