TEHRAN -- President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday marked National Journalist’s Day by praising Iranian journalists as “frontline commanders in the defense of truth,” emphasizing their critical role in resisting disinformation and upholding national dignity. Stressing the need for “honest explicitness” and “dignified perseverance,” he urged reporters to bravely reflect Iran’s realities. He paid tribute to martyred journalists, especially those who exposed the crimes of the Zionist regime and reported on Gaza. Pezeshkian also reaffirmed the government’s duty to ensure media freedom, security, and livelihoods, calling journalism vital in uniting public trust and confronting falsehoods.
