CEO: National Copper Company Eyes $8bn Revenue by 2028
TEHRAN - CEO of the
National Iranian Copper Industries Company Seyyed Mostafa Faiz has announced the company has set a target to achieve $8 billion revenues at the end of the Seventh Development Plan, 2028.
The Seventh Development Plan in Iran covers the period from 2023 to 2028. This five-year plan is a strategic document that guides the country’s annual budgets and development policies. One of its primary goals is to achieve an average annual economic growth rate of 8%.
Referring to the global outlook of the copper industry, Faiz said, in the coming years, despite market fluctuations, the nature of the demand for copper will undergo fundamental changes, and the Iranian copper industry must also be prepared to have a stronger presence in this sector.
The CEO of the National Copper Company continued, the company’s geological resources have now reached a significant point of 22.5 billion tonnes, which is considered a great capacity for future development.
Emphasizing the sustainable and productive production approach at the National Copper Company, he stated: “In the path of development, we have paid special attention to improving the quality of production and industrial complexity, and we are seriously pursuing the issue of somatization and the realization of the mining industry indicators.”
HE added, the company’s development plans are designed in the form of a mega-project that, while responding to the tasks of the Seventh Development Plan, focuses on increasing mining and production capacity in the value chain. Despite the challenges and limitations, we have used all our strength to fully implement these plans.
Referring to the change in approach to project implementation, he said, one of the important measures in recent months has been prioritizing projects and creating continuity between them in the form of development packages; packages that are the result of hours of expert work based on valid scientific methods and their results will soon be visible.
The CEO of the National Copper Company also added, in the current situation, we have 72 projects underway, and this number of projects have been prioritized in the form of 23 project packages, and the work will proceed based on these priorities. Of course, in the meantime, we also emphasize accelerating the implementation of projects and increasing the rate of return on investments.
By utilizing the projects, the National Copper Company’s share in the country’s GDP will reach 1.3 percent by 1408 and will bring more than 8 billion dollars in foreign exchange for the country, he said.
