Yemen Targets Ben Gurion With Hypersonic Missile

SANA’A (Dispatches) -- Yemen’s Armed Forces launched a “Palestine‑2” hypersonic ballistic missile at Ben Gurion international airport, near Tel Aviv, in direct response to Israel’s military against on Gaza, declared Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree, the Yemeni military spokesperson, on Tuesday.
Saree affirmed that the strike successfully achieved its intended impact—halting airport activity and triggering mass sheltering.
“Millions of Zionist usurpers fled to shelters,” he said, adding that the operation underscored Yemen’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and opposition to foreign hegemony over the Arab and Islamic nation.
He stressed, “Our operations are ongoing and will not cease until the aggression against Gaza stops and the siege is lifted.”
The missile strike triggered alert sirens in central Israeli occupied territories early Tuesday, prompting the Israeli military to claim it had intercepted the projectile.
The strike followed a Yemeni drone attack earlier that day, which reportedly targeted multiple strategic locations deep inside the Israeli settlements.
Muhammad al‑Bukhaiti, a senior official within the Ansarullah movement, echoed the message: “Yemen will escalate its retaliatory operations if Israel increases its strikes against Yemeni territory.”
Since the outbreak of Israel’s Gaza assault in October 2023, Yemen has responded repeatedly. Yemeni forces have launched dozens of drone and missile operations—not only targeting Israeli military sites, but also vessels heading toward Israeli ports—with the declared aim of supporting besieged Gazans
While Israel maintains that its air defenses intercepted the missile, the repeated targeting of critical infrastructure—especially deep inside Israel—marks a departure from earlier, limited skirmishes. Analysts suggest the move strengthens Yemen’s position within the Axis of Resistance, alongside groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
The sophistication of the missile—said to be capable of Mach‑16 speeds and 2,000 km range—signals growing threats to Israel’s Arrow and THAAD defense shields.
The new operation came after Israel launched airstrikes on the key Yemeni port of Hudaydah.
