President Pezeshkian Inaugurates New Gas Unit at Neka Power Plant
SARI, Mazandaran – President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday inaugurated a new gas unit at the Neka Power Plant in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran, via video conference.
The new gas unit, with a capacity of 183 megawatts, was inaugurated with the present of Iran’s Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi, and Mazandaran province officials attended the ceremony to officially open the unit.
Construction of the unit was completed in less than five months, setting a national record for development projects.
The newly launched unit is part of a larger development project that also includes an additional gas unit with a capacity of 183 megawatts, and a steam unit with a capacity of 180 megawatts.
The new unit will supply power to 100,000 households and support industrial demands in Mazandaran Province. It has created 200 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs.
The President also expressed his gratitude for the rapid construction and opening of the first phase of the new Neka power plant and said: “Fortunately, good measures are being taken in the field of developing renewable power plants, and I hope that with the existing interaction and empathy, we can eliminate the existing deficiencies in the field of electricity supply so that producers can advance their development and production plans without worries.”
