TEHRAN – Iran’s Minister of Sports Ahmad Donyamali has called on the FIFA President Gianni Infantino to suspend Israel’s participation in all international football competitions and events.
Following the martyrdom of a futsal player, a soccer player, and a referee as a result of the Israeli regime’s aggression on Iran, Donayamli called on the FIFA chief to suspend the Zionist regime in all international football competitions and events.
Ali Moradi, football player, Alireza Khalaj, futsal player and a referee, Muhammad Asadi were killed in Israeli strikes.
In light of these deeply concerning events, we respectfully and urgently call on FIFA to take decisive and appropriate action. We call on you to suspend the usurping Israeli regime from all international football competitions and events.
This necessary action is not simply a political stance, but a fundamental commitment to human rights, ethical principles and the Olympic Charter, which the sport of football explicitly supports. Such a resolute show of solidarity underlines the unwavering commitment of the international football community to the victims of war, including the athletes who have tragically perished in these crises. It will send a clear and unequivocal message that the values of sporting ethics, peace and human dignity transcend all other considerations.
