‘Fattah’ Conquers Airspace Over Occupied Territories
TEHRAN -- Advanced “Fattah” hypersonic missiles were used in the eleventh phase of Operation True Promise III in the early hours of Wednesday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said.
The missile successfully penetrated much-hyped Israeli air defenses and delivered a powerful message to the regime and its Western backers, the IRGC said.
The IRGC described the latest phase of the operation as a “turning point,” saying the deployment of first-generation Fattah missiles marked “the beginning of the end” for Israel’s “mythical” missile defense systems.
It congratulated the commanders and fighters of the IRGC aerospace force for the success of a “glorious and pride-inducing” mission.
“The powerful and highly maneuverable Fattah missiles repeatedly shook the shelters of the cowardly Zionists tonight, sending a clear message of Iran’s strength to Tel Aviv’s warmongering ally, which continues to dwell in delusions and false assumptions,” it noted.
The statement emphasized that the missile barrage proved Iran now holds complete dominance over the skies of the occupied territories and that Israeli settlers remain utterly defenseless against the Islamic Republic’s precision strikes.
Fattah (meaning “the opener”) is a precision-guided two-stage solid-fueled missile with a range of 1,400 km and a terminal speed of Mach 13 to 15, unveiled in June 2023.
This speed, along with movable nozzles that allow the missile to maneuver in all directions both in and out of the Earth’s atmosphere, makes it immune to interception by all existing anti-missile systems, according to military experts.
Former IRGC aerospace commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh had described the missile as a “giant leap” at its unveiling ceremony in 2023.
Before Iran, only three countries had mastered the technology to manufacture operational hypersonic missiles, namely Russia, China and India. Their models differ in launch platforms, range, payload, and hypersonic technology itself.
The eleventh phase of the operation was the most intense so far and saw Iranian missiles tear through multiple layers of Israeli air defense systems.
Despite heavy media censorship imposed by the Zionist regime, videos surfaced on social media showing the skies over Tel Aviv and Haifa lit up by a barrage of advanced Iranian missiles breaching Israel’s three-tiered missile interceptors.
The spokesperson for Operation True Promise 3 Colonel Iman Tajik said Tuesday night missile attacks demonstrated Iran’s complete dominance over the skies of the occupied territories.
Tajik lauded the IRGC Aerospace Force’s 11th wave of Operation True Promise 3, carried out with first-generation Fattah missiles.
The powerful Fattah missiles penetrated the Israeli missile defense system, repeatedly shaking the shelters of the cowardly Israelis, and delivering Iran’s message of strength to the warmongering allies in Tel Aviv, who are lost in delusions and hollow fantasies, he added.
The Tuesday night missile attack proved that Iran has the gained the full control over the skies of the occupied Palestine, leaving its residents completely defenseless against Iran’s missile strikes, he stressed.
Footage captured from inside the occupied territories showed Iranian missiles making impact on ground targets, and the Israeli “Iron Dome” system was seen malfunctioning for the second night in a row and lobbing presumably defense projectiles onto Tel Aviv and causing a fire.
After the strikes, footage captured by cellphone cameras of panicked and awestruck Israelis walking amid the rubble of buildings hit by Iran began to go viral.
Later Wednesday, the IRGC said it was launching a new type of powerful missile at Israeli targets on the sixth day of the Israeli war of aggression against Iran.
The force said the new missiles were of the Sejjil type, potent weapons that are two-stage, long-haul, and super-heavy.
“To the residents of the occupied Quds territories,” the IRGC statement read, “the skies of the occupied territories have opened up to the Iranian missiles and drones.”
The Israeli regime attacked Iranian territory, including residential buildings, in an unprovoked act of aggression overnight on June 13. Top Iranian military officials were assassinated in targeted strikes. Civilians died when houses were directly struck. Entire population centers were affected.
In a stern and strongly-worded warning to the Israeli regime and its Western backers on Tuesday, Iran’s top military commander warned that the country will soon shift to “punitive operations”.
Major General Sayyid Abdolrahim Mousavi, the newly-elected Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, in a televised message, said the operations carried out so far since Friday had been deterrent, and the actual punitive operations will be executed soon.
He said the Zionist regime, in an act of aggression disguised as military goals, has in recent days attacked the people of Iran, including women, children and the elderly.
Mousavi said the regime has disregarded all recognized international laws, and after killing some 300 journalists in Gaza and Lebanon, has now launched a savage assault on the media professionals of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) to silence the voice of truth.
