Final Round of Qur’an Competition Among Students Begins
TEHRAN -- The final round of the 39th edition of the Qur’an competition among Iran’s university students kicked off in a ceremony on Saturday.
The Mohaqqeq Ardabili University in the northwestern city of Ardebil is hosting the finals, which will run until Monday.
Some 400 students from different universities of the country have made it to the final round.
They compete in several categories, including Qur’an recitation, memorization (four levels), Tarteel, prayer recitation, and Adhan (call to prayer).
A total of 16 Qur’an experts from the panels of judges in the men and women sections of the Quranic event.
The festival also has a non-oral section that includes literary, art, research and innovation categories.
Winners of the top three ranks in each category will be named and awarded at the closing ceremony on Monday.
