Iran Unveils New Drones With Warning
TEHRAN – Iran’s Army on Thursday took delivery of three vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drones, which are versatile for various missions and can transition to fixed-wing flight for increased efficiency and longer range.
The Homa, Dideban (Watchdog) and Shahin-1 (Falcon-1) suicide drones were unveiled during a ceremony at the Army’s drone and air base in the southeastern city of Zahedan.
The Homa can operate at a maximum flight altitude of over 12,000 feet (3,657 meters). It is capable of successfully undertaking various reconnaissance missions in electronic warfare situations by utilizing its night vision capability, without the need for a runway.
The Dideban, which will join the Army’s Ground Force, is also a lightweight and portable unmanned aerial vehicle that utilizes its day and night visibility and has the ability to pinpoint the precise location of the target.
With a flight altitude of 6,000 feet, the drone can complete a variety of reconnaissance and target pinpointing missions in different electronic warfare situations.
The distinctive feature of the Dideban is that it can be flown within a group and can monitor and target several areas simultaneously.
The Shahin-1 suicide drone is a new and modern one capable of confronting the dangers of future battles.
Thanks to its distinctive features of flight continuity, operational range, and flight altitude appropriate to various operations, it is capable of hitting and destroying all fixed and mobile enemy targets with its maneuverability and high speed.
Deputy head of the Army Brigadier General Nozar Nemati said the Ground Force, having realized the requirements of modern battlefields and the urgent need for investment in cutting-edge technologies and achievements in military and defense spheres, such as micro aerial vehicle, drones, unmanned equipment, and the use of artificial intelligence, has committed itself to indigenous development of the strategic field.
“It is because of these investments, planning, and persistence in research, as well as progress and development in such efficient and empowering fields that the Army’s Ground Force is now recognized as a leading and pioneering force in employment and utilization of the capacity and power of new defense and military achievements,” he said.
A spokesman for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said Thursday Iran will give a devastating response to any foolish act by Israel.
Brigadier General Ali Muhammad Naeini made the remarks after a CNN report on Tuesday said Israel was preparing for a potential military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“The enemy is delusional and ignorant in its assessments of the Islamic Republic’s strengths, and fails to understand that if war breaks out, the power of the people will enter the scene, just as it did during the Iran-Iraq War,” he said.
The IRGC’s spokesman warned that if the Israeli regime commits any act of folly and aggression, “it will undoubtedly receive a devastating and decisive response within its small and vulnerable occupied territory.”
Naeini said, “We have become more powerful in various aspects compared to past years, and our military advancements are astonishing.”
