Witkoff Sees Likely Talks With Iran at Weekend
WASHINGTON (Dispatches) – U.S. President Donald Trump’s regional envoy on Tuesday called the indirect talks with Iran “positive,” saying efforts are underway to take the process into another round this weekend.
“We are making some progress,” Steve Witkoff said. “I hope it is moving in the right direction. The president wants to see this solved diplomatically if possible, so we’re doing everything we can to get it going.” The fourth round had initially been scheduled for May 3 in the Italian capital, but it was postponed.
