20,000 Mosques to Honor Shah Cheragh
TEHRAN -- Commemorations of Hazrat Shah Cheragh (AS) will be held in 20,000 mosques and religious sites across Iran, an official said.
The head of the National Committee for the Ten-Day Karamat Celebrations noted that they will be organized on the 6th of Dhul Qada (May 4).
Ali Mollanouri made the remarks at a meeting in Shiraz attended by the officials in charge of holding the Karamat Festival.
The Karamat celebrations mark the ten days between the birth anniversaries of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) and Imam Reza (AS), the daughter and son of the 7th Shia Imam.
Various religious, cultural, arts, and literary events as well as forums are planned to be held during the ten-day celebrations.
Mollanouri noted that the birth anniversary of Hazrat Shah Cheragh (AS) also falls within these ten days.
Ahmad ibn Musa, the son of Imam Musa Kadhim (AS), is known as Shah Cheragh. His mausoleum is a major pilgrimage site in Shiraz, southern Iran.
