Music Festival to Debut ‘Peace and Resistance’ Award
TEHRAN -- The 40th International Fajr Music Festival is to introduce a new award, “Peace and Resistance”, dedicated to performances highlighting the Resistance Front, organizers announced on Thursday.
Scheduled from February 11 to 17, the festival will take place in Tehran and 20 provinces across Iran. It will feature both competitive and non-competitive sections, showing a diverse range of musical genres.
Several provinces will host their own editions of the festival, including East Azarbaijan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Zanjan, Markazi, Fars, Lorestan, Kermanshah, Khorasan Razavi, and Kerman.
East Azarbaijan, in its fourth year, will present performances in traditional, pop, ethnic, fusion, and Western classical music.
Ardabil, marking its eleventh edition, will focus on local styles such as Azerbaijani and Ashiq.
Khuzestan will hold a non-competitive event, “Pioneers of the Land of Resistance”, in Abadan and Khorramshahr.
Several provinces, including Golestan, Mazandaran, and North Khorasan, will feature extensive participation from local and youth groups.
Khorasan Razavi will introduce a special award for performances inspired by Imam Reza (AS).
Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the festival aims to celebrate Iranian music, promote artistic innovation, and preserve cultural identity.
