Theaters Gear Up for Nowruz Debut of ‘Prophet Moses’

TEHRAN -- Iranian theaters are set to host the highly anticipated ‘Prophet Moses’ by the acclaimed director Ebrahim Hatamikia as part of the Nowruz lineup.
The film, which garnered significant attention with 12 nominations at the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival, joins seven other films in the official Persian New Year screening schedule.
According to a media report, the screenings during the holidays for the Persian New Year include  ‘Bambolek’ by Arash Moayerian, ‘Dolphin Boy 2’ by Muhammad Kheyrandish, ‘The Devotee’ by Ali Ghaffari’, ‘Raha’ by Hesam Farahmand, ‘Dinosaur’ by Masoud Atyabi, ‘Red Glasses’ by Hussein Mahkam and ‘Molotov Cocktail’ by Hussein Amiri Doumari.
The religious epic ‘Prophet Moses’ represents Hatamikia’s venture into religious historical storytelling, departing from his known contemporary social dramas.
The cinematic production focuses on the childhood of Prophet Moses. Its inclusion in the  Nowruz lineup, which is traditionally a significant box office season in Iran, could position it as a potential blockbuster in Iranian cinema for 2025.
The Persian New Year celebrations begin in late March.
