Yemen Targets Zionist War Ministry, Issues Warning
SANA’A (Dispatches) --
Yemen’s armed forces will work closely with Palestinian resistance groups to deal with Israel in case of any violations of the Gaza truce agreement, a military spokesperson here said on Saturday.
Explosions were heard over Occupied Al-Quds after air raid sirens blared and the Zionist military said a projectile had been launched from Yemen.
The Yemeni military said its forces targeted the Israeli war ministry, before air raid sirens sounded again in southern Israeli occupied territories in the afternoon.
Military spokesman Yahya Saree said Yemen used a Zulfiqar ballistic missile in the operation. The Zulfiqar missile, which is reportedly radar-evading and highly maneuverable, has a range of more than 2,000 kilometers.
Saree said the missile struck its designated target with high accuracy, and Israeli anti-air systems failed to intercept it.
Yemeni armed forces, he said, will stand by the side of Palestinian resistance fighters in Gaza, and will not hesitate to respond militarily to any violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Earlier in the day, the Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv suspended both inbound and outbound flights following the ballistic missile attack from Yemen.
Israeli police said they had received reports of debris and shrapnel from the Yemeni missile.
Some fragments purportedly fell in an open area near Moshav Bar Giora, while other pieces fell near a gas station next to Moshav Mevo Beitar.
Last week, Yemeni forces targeted the Israeli war ministry building with a homegrown Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile.
An Israeli man was seriously wounded in a stabbing attack in central Tel Aviv on Saturday afternoon.
Haaretz reported, citing a security source, that the attacker was Salah Yahya, a 19-year-old Palestinian from the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm.
