Criminals in Power

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

In Syria, if the US and Western Europe are whitewashing terrorists who have seized power in Damascus and removing the most notorious amongst them from the wanted list along with cancellation of all the sanctions imposed for decades on the former government, in Washington a topmost criminal deserving conviction and imprisonment is all set to assume power.
Former Al-Qaeda leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani has become the blue-eyed boy of Israel and the West, while the Arab regimes sending planeloads of aid to him, are vying with each other to serve the unholy cause of Donald Trump to help the Zionist entity commit more crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza.
Why the sudden change in the label of a macabrely murderous outfit? Why the praise for a fraudster and dastardly killer who is an ugly blot on American conscience?
We seem to be living in a world devoid of ethical principles and where rogues rule the roost.
Syria may soon get rid of the current clique that has nothing to offer to the people, except betrayal of Arab nationalism and Islamic religion. It cannot hang on to power for long on the aprons of Israel and the US.
What is shameless is the elected to the US presidency of an impeached head of state whose crimes against the American people should have put him behind the bars.
The US Justice Department’s Special Counsel Jack Smith, who resigned recently, says Donald Trump, who certainly was unqualified to stand for the presidential elections, was lucky to escape conviction.
A report Smith submitted before his resignation to the Department of Justice last week and published on Tuesday concluded that Trump’s conviction would have been in connection with his “unprecedented criminal effort” to overturn the result of the 2020 elections.
The report says Trump spread false claims of voter fraud following the 2020 election and pressured state lawmakers not to certify the vote. He also sought to use fraudulent groups of electors who pledged to vote for him – in states actually won by Joe Biden in 2020 – in a bid to stop Congress from certifying Biden’s win.
Trump’s criminal efforts culminated in the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol, where his supporters stormed Congress in a failed attempt to stop lawmakers from certifying the vote.
For us in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Trump’s extra territorial terrorism and his crimes against humanity are far more serious than his bid to manipulate the 2020 US elections, since he is the chief unmanly assassin of the Hammer of Terrorism, General Qasim Soleimani.
It is an unforgivable sin, and is among the causes for the terrorist takeover of Syria.
