Protests Held in Several Countries Against Israeli Aggression
RABAT (Dispatches) – Thousands of Moroccans and Yemenis participated in protests and solidarity events on Friday in support of Lebanon and Gaza, condemning the ongoing Israeli genocidal wars, Anadolu Agency reports.
In Morocco, large crowds gathered in several cities, including Kenitra, Berrechid, al-Hoceima, Kalaat M’Gouna, and others across the country, following Friday prayers.
The rallies, organized by the Moroccan Committee for the Support of the Ummah, a non-governmental organization, called for continued support for Palestine and humanitarian aid for Gaza.
Protesters chanted demands for an end to the Zionist regime’s war on Palestine and Lebanon.
In Yemen, tens of thousands also demonstrated in solidarity with Gaza and Lebanon across 14 provinces, including the capital, Sana’a.
The rallies, organized by the Al-Quds Support Committee in Sana’a, Saada, Hajjah and other provinces.
Participants raised flags of Yemen, Palestine and Lebanon, as well as images of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, chanting in support of Gaza and Lebanon.
In Ireland, citizens opposing the sale of the Zionist regime’s war bonds held a protest on Friday under the banner, ‘Stop funding genocide’.
The demonstration was organized by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) in front of the Central Bank of Ireland building in Dublin.
Protesters said the Central Bank of Ireland’s approval of Israeli bonds was ‘unethical’ and called for halting their sale across Europe.
Ireland, which along with Norway and Spain recognized Palestine in May, is the home country of Israeli bonds sold in the EU, with the Central Bank of Ireland designated as the competent authority to approve prospectuses for the securities.
The bonds are said to have been used as a means to support the Zionist regime’s brutal wars in Gaza and Lebanon.
Independent senator, Alice Mary Higgins, who attended the protest, told Anadolu that the Central Bank of Ireland’s support for the regime is a serious breach of international law.
Higgins said the bonds, previously sold through the UK, were taken over by Ireland after Brexit.
She said Ireland should “not be facilitator or accomplice” in the flow of money and arms.
Iraqi protesters also burned the flags of the U.S., the UK, and the Zionist regime during massive rallies after Friday prayers to denounce the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon.
Iraqis took to the streets of Baghdad to protest against Israel and its Western allies over the Israeli campaign of death and destruction in West Asia
The footage showed the flags being torn apart and set on fire by demonstrators in Baghdad’s Sadr City and the southern holy city of Najaf.
They also waved Palestinian and Lebanese flags and chanted anti-Israel slogans such as “No, no for Israel. Yes, yes for Islam.”
Attending the rally in the Iraqi capital, Hakim al-Zamili, a member of the Iraqi Parliament, strongly denounced the Israeli crimes against women and children.
“We have decided to speak against the Zionist and American crimes of killing children, women, and elderly people,” he said.
He censured the Arab governments’ inaction on the regime’s continuous massacres and the targeting of civilians in the region.
“This ongoing killing which is taking place with silence from Arab, Islamic, and international community towards these crimes that kill children, women, and elderly people.”
Regional tensions have escalated due to the Zionist regime’s brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 43,700 people, mostly women and children.
As the conflict spread to Lebanon with the Zionist regime launching deadly strikes, over 3,400 people have been killed and more than 14,400 others injured in the attacks since last year, according to Lebanese health authorities.
