“What remains of Allah’s provision is better for you, should you be faithful,” (Holy Qur’an 11:86)

With these Divine Words inscribed on it, Iran’s newest research satellite soared into space and the Earth’s orbit at an altitude of 550 km above the Planet’s surface yesterday, the second successful launch of the year.

Chamran 1 sent onboard the domestically manufactured three-stage solid fuel Qaem-100 space launch vehicle (SLV) developed by the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), is indeed yet another impressive stride in Iran’s rapidly expanding outer space programme.

The 60 kg satellite soon sent home its first signals as part of its mission of assessing the performance of cold gas propulsion subsystems in space systems, and performance evaluation of navigation and attitude control subsystems.

This was another defeat for the sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic over the past decades by the US and West European regimes complicit in crimes against humanity.

In other words, Iran’s rise in the ranks of the world’s top ten nations capable of developing and launching satellites, is not just a giant stride in the civilian space programme but a firm slap on the face of super terrorist Washington.

Last January, the Islamic Republic had launched the remote-sensing Sorayya satellite at an altitude of 750 km into the Earth’s orbit, the highest so far by the country.

It is interesting to note that ‘Sorayya’ or its Arabic pronunciation ‘Thurayya’ (western version ‘the Pleiades’) is a bright cluster of a thousand-plus stars in the farthest reaches of the universe, regarding which is a famous saying attributed to Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) concerning the quest of knowledge of the Iranian people in future.

Earlier this year, Iran had also launched three satellites at once – the Mahda, Kayhan-2, and Hatef-1 as part of its aerospace programme to test advanced subsystems, global positioning, and communication through space vehicles based on nano technology.

All this is undeniable proof of the Islamic Republic’s power of resistance to defeat the psychological warfare and media propaganda of its enemies, especially the Americans, attempting to Iran’s dignity and strength.
