Qari, Memorizer to Represent Iran at Turkey Qur’an Competition

TEHRAN -- Iran has two representatives in this year’s edition of the international Qur’an competition in Turkey.
Milad Asheqi competes in the category of memorization of the entire Qur’an while Seyed Parsa Angoshtan represents Iran in the category of Qur’an recitation.
The Qur’anic event is organized in two rounds, with the preliminary round having been held virtually two weeks ago.
In this stage, Asheqi answered three questions of the panel of arbiters virtually.
Angoshtan, who is in Mecca as part of the Iranian Hajj Qur’anic convoy, has sent a video file of his recitation to the competition.
The results of the preliminary stage will be announced soon, with the final round slated to held in Turkey in October.
The previous edition of the international Quranic event was held in September 2022.
Iran’s Vahid Khazaei came third in that edition while the country’s representative in memorization of the entire Qur’an, Hussein Khani, did not win any ranks.
