President Raisi: Regional States Will Shape World’s Future
TEHRAN - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a meeting with the visiting Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Kairat Sarybay on Tuesday said that when unilateralism collapses, regional organizations and countries will shape the future of the world.
President Raisi voiced Iran’s readiness to share know-how with CICA members in the spheres of science and technology, economic growth, as well as in the fight against terrorism and organized crimes.
During the meeting, Raisi also stressed the need for bolstering interregional transport corridors.
Kairat Sarybay, for his part, hailed Iran for hosting CICA-related events, particularly those focused on fight against terrorism and economic development.
Touching on Iran’s achievements in various fields, especially science, and technology, he called on Iran to exchange experiences with CICA member states in those fields.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian also met with Kairat Sarybay and denounced the Zionist regime’s “ominous presence” in CICA, warning of the regime’s “destructive and unconstructive role” in the activities of the multi-national forum.
Amir-Abdollahian also reaffirmed Iran’s support for any practical initiative for the promotion of CICA’s position and efficiency.
CICA is a multi-national forum for enhancing cooperation towards promoting peace, security and stability in Asia. Its member states are committed to the UN Charter and believe that peace and security in Asia can be achieved through dialogue and cooperation leading to a common indivisible area of security in Asia.
The Zionist regime is one of the 28 members of CICA, which also includes nine observer states, including the U.S.
To be a member of CICA, a country must have at least a part of its territory in Asia.
Raisi Calls for More Enhanced Iran-Turkey Ties
President Raisi on Tuesday, in a telephone conversation hoped for the expansion of Iran’s relations with Turkey in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who will remain in power until 2028 after winning the run-off presidential election.
Raisi once again congratulated Erdogan on his election victory, expressing hope that the economic, political, security, cultural and trade relations between Tehran and Ankara would grow further during the new term of the Turkish leader.
Highlighting the influential role of cooperation between Iran and Turkey in strengthening security and stability in the region, the Iranian president called for accelerated interaction between the two neighbors in order to fulfill the interests of the regional nations.
For his part, Erdogan expressed gratitude to the Iranian president for his goodwill, saying the relations between Turkey and Iran will continue to grow more vigorously in various fields during his new term.
He also stated that Ankara is willing to continue regional cooperation with Iran, including within the framework of quadrilateral collaboration among Turkey, Iran, Russia and Syria.
The Turkish president noted that such mutual interaction will have positive and effective impacts on bolstering regional stability and promoting economic and trade cooperation.
