Words of Wisdom

Salaam dear young friends, and hope you have enjoyed your Eid al-Fitr holidays and are in the best of mood after the month-long fasts of blessed Ramadhan. In other words, your newfound spiritual status is an inspiration for your academic success as well as ethical perfection.
Well youngsters, with the long summer holidays just started, how do you plan to spend your time?
Of course, you will be visiting family members and friends, in addition to trips to the colder climes of Iran for rest, relaxation, sightseeing, sports and study of the natural environment and the heritage of history.
For the foreign readers of our weekly column, Iran is a large country with varied geographical features, ranging from scorching deserts to snow-covered mountains, interspersed with lush green forests and the streams that flow into the Persian Gulf in the south and the Caspian Sea in the north, or end up in the local lakes.
Plus, there are historical sites, flourishing cultural centres, and recreational resorts – complete with skiing on the mountain slopes to surfing on the turquoise waters of the seas, all of which bear testimony to Iran’s glorious past, progressive present and brilliant future.
Do visit Iran, which unscathed by the unjust sanctions of the US, continues its steady development in different fields, promoting the Resistant Economy, as pilgrims pour in from all corners of the world to visit the holy shrines of the Immaculate Offspring of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).
Meanwhile, business goes on as usual in the Islamic Republic of Iran, unperturbed by the crises the super criminals, especially the US, have created in our neighbourhood, where people want to emulate Iran’s model of dignified development, much to the chagrin of Washington and the illegal Zionist entity.
Speaking of business, reminds us of an interesting anecdote which you youths will surely like.
One day, a businessman met the famous simple-minded sage, Bahlool and said, “O Shaykh! Give me advice as to what I should buy that would benefit me most.”
Bahlool promptly said: “Iron and cotton.”
The man went away and bought a lot of iron and cotton and stocked them. After a few months, he sold them and gained a lot of profit. Again he met Bahlool and said, “O Crazy man! What should I buy that would profit me?”
This time Bahlool told him to buy onions and watermelons. The businessman went and spent his entire savings in buying onions and watermelons, little knowing that in a few days, the food data-x-items will rot and bring about of heavy losses.
When this happened, the businessmen immediately sought Bahlool and said: “When I first asked you for advice, you said buy iron and cotton. I profited a lot from this, but the second time what kind of advice did you give me! All my wealth was destroyed!”
Bahlool calmly said: “The first day you addressed me as Shaykh Bahlool, and since you addressed me as an intelligent person, I advised you according to my wisdom. The second time you called me Crazy Bahlool, so I advised you like a crazy person.”
The businessman was ashamed of his behaviour and understood how to respect people.
