Peace, prestige, and power are closely interlinked power and are essential for protection security and safeguarding stability of a nation, as well as that of the region from predators.

In other words, a powerless and defenceless country, however peaceful its policies, is an easy target for aggressors against its sovereignty, occupiers of its territory, and exploiters of its rich natural resources.

This was the gist of the message of President Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi yesterday in his nationally and internationally broadcast speech while reviewing the latest means of defence produced by Iran and addressing a parade on Army National Day of the four divisions of the Army – the ground Force, the navy, the air force, and the air defense.

He said the annual armed forces day – whether of the national army or the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) – conveys the message of peace and friendship to regional countries.

The truth of his statement is fully evident in the role played by Iranian defence advisors and Iran’s state-of-the-art military products in not just ensuring national sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also helping the people and governments of the neighbourhood in their successful campaign against macabrely murderous terrorists, the unwarranted aggression of client states, and the devilish designs of the Zionists – all of whom are supported by that ‘villain of peace’, the US.

Without the least doubt, Tehran, much to the exasperation of Washington, has protected the territorial integrity and security of the countries of the region.”

The Iranian president clearly stated: “The extra-territorial and American forces should leave the region as soon as possible because it is in their own interest and in the interest of the region.” 

He also did not mince words when he said: “The enemies, especially the Zionist regime (Israel), have received this message that the slightest move against the country will evoke a severe response from the armed forces and will be accompanied by the destruction of Haifa and Tel Aviv.”

To sum up, if not for the piety and patriotism of the skilled and committed Iranian people, following the valuable experiences learned from the 8-year war that the US had imposed through Saddam of the repressive Ba’th minority regime of Baghdad in the 1980s, Iran would not have emerged into the paramount power for peace and progress that it is today by achieving self-sufficiency in not just the defence industries but in almost all spheres of science and technology.
