‘Subtraction’ Participates at Sweden’s Göteborg
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian-French movie ‘Subtraction’ has made its way to the Göteborg Film Festival in Sweden.
Directed by Mani Haqiqi, the film will represent Iran at the new section of the 46th edition of the event, named “Stories from Iran”.
“After a confusing interaction in downtown Tehran, a married couple seems to have found their doppelgangers,” a synopsis for the film reads.
The film is starring Navid Mohammadzadeh and Taraneh Alidousti.
‘Subtraction’ has already taken part in a number of global events, including the BFI London Film Festival in the UK and the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.
Starting in 1979, the Göteborg Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Nordic countries. Each year the festival’s program group travels around the world to track down selected films to bring back to Göteborg.
The films are then presented during the ten-day festival at the end of January, creating a great banquet serving audiences with nearly 450 films from some 80 countries.
The 46th edition of the festival is scheduled for January 27–February 5, 2023.
