Iraq, Iran Sign Medical Cooperation Agreement
BAGHDAD (Dispatches) -- Health ministries of Iraq and Iran have reached an agreement to form a joint committee to review medical cooperation between the two countries.
Iraqi media outlets reported Iraqi Minister of Health Salih Mahdi Motlab al-Hasnawi and his Iranian counterpart Bahram Einollahi agreed in a meeting here to boost healthcare collaboration between the two neighboring countries.
During the meeting, which was held in the presence of Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Muhammad-Kazem al-Sadeq, the two sides reviewed ways to expand bilateral collaboration on procurement of medicines and medical equipment.
They also discussed exchanging medical delegations between Iran and Iraq and other issues like holding joint medical conferences, treatment of patients and training of medical and healthcare staff.
The ministers declared in a press conference that the two countries will form a joint committee to cooperate on bilateral medical issues, including on treatment of patients, hiring medical teams to carry out complicated operations, and collaboration between medical universities of the two countries.
