Israelis Devise New Form of Torment for Besieged Rain-Hit Gaza

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

There is no end to the sufferings of the long-oppressed Palestinian people at the hands of the usurpers of their homeland, the Zionists of Europe.
Almost 75 years of oppression continues to take on many colours at every turn as the Israelis conjure up newer methods of torturing an already badly tormented nation.
To the regular target killing of politicians and journalists, the indiscriminate gunning down of men, youth, women, and children (even underage and infants), and their imprisonment without charges and torture, coupled with the economic blockade, the bulldozing of homes and farmlands, and desecration of Islamic sites, should now be added the opening of sluice gates to flood parts of Gaza.
While the UN turns a blind eye, the Arab regimes turn a deaf ear, and the US feels a sadistic thrill at the unending atrocities in the West Bank and Gaza, the heartless Israelis think it is indeed fun and amusement to see homes and hearths washed away as the homeless people struggle to evade drowning.
Last Monday, the Zionist usurpers of Palestine flooded the middle and southern areas of the blockaded Gaza Strip with rainwater after deliberately opening dam gates,
As a result, scores of homes and hundreds of acres of farmland of the poor Palestinian people were flooded, leaving many people homeless and crops damaged in the Qarara neighbourhood, east of Khan Younis.
According to eyewitness accounts, large swathes of the city of Deir al Balh, in the middle sector of the Gaza Strip went under water to worsen the plight of the people already affected by extreme cold and abundant rain since Friday.
Several areas across the Gaza Strip suffered from heavy rainwater entering their homes as large parts of the infrastructure set for drainage towards the sea damaged earlier because of repeated Israeli assaults.
Though municipalities across the Gaza Strip have been doing their best to keep life functioning and prevent further damage to streets, homes, and different infrastructures, their tasks have been compounded by the lack of adequate equipment due to the Israeli ban on the entry of different emergency tools.
The plight of the Palestinians has become complicated as most of the world countries ignore these crimes against humanity.
This nothing but terrorism on a vast scale by an entity that was illegally planted on Palestinian soil by Britain and which with American support continues to torment and torture a whole nation held in thrall for the past 75 years.
These crimes should stop, and the plight of the Palestinians will never end until the end of Israel.
