Hamas, Islamic Jihad Pledge Resistance After Palestinian Martyred

GAZA STRIP (Dispatches) – The Gaza-based Hamas and Islamic Jihad resistance movements say the resistance against Zionist occupiers will continue until the full liberation of Palestinian lands while also condemning the regime’s crime of killing a Palestinian youth.
The groups issued a statement, reacting to the killing of Mahmoud Naim Badir in the city of Kafr Qassem earlier in the day.
Hamas said Badir “was executed in cold blood by Israeli occupation forces,” adding, “We emphasize that the Palestinian people will continue their resistance until ending the occupation, liberating their Muslim and Christian holy sites, achieving their aspirations for freedom and establishing a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.”
Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad called for the expansion of unity among the Palestinians in the face of the regime’s endless crimes.
Zionist crimes against the Palestinians in the occupied territories will never undermine the steadfastness of the nation, reads the statement. “We call for increased popular solidarity and unity to target occupiers and prevent their stability.”
Zionist troops shot dead the 23-year-old alleging that he was carrying out a shooting and ramming attack. The regime’s military claimed two of its forces were injured during the incident.
Israeli media cited the police as saying that the operation had been planned several days in advance and included shooting and throwing firebombs.
Meanwhile, the family of the slain Palestinian man has dismissed the Israeli scenario. “The Israeli forces killed our son Naim Badir in cold blood, and the Israeli story on our son carrying out an attack on Israeli forces is a false claim.”
Naim’s family said the “police, after killing our son, stormed the house and destroyed it completely in front of children, who screamed, cried, and were terrified by the Israeli violent behavior.”
The increased attacks of Zionist troops and settlers against the occupied territories have made 2022 the deadliest year for the Palestinians since 2005, according to United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
The attacks have claimed the lives of at least 220 Palestinians, including more than 50 children. In retaliation, the Palestinians have killed 29 Israelis, including soldiers, in the same period.
In a recent incident, a Palestinian infant has been injured after a group of Zionist settlers attacked vehicles of Palestinians traveling on a road in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, as they press ahead with their acts of vandalism and violence against Palestinians and their property.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said in a statement that a one-and-a-half-year-old girl suffered injuries as settlers hurled stones at Palestinian cars near the town of Osarin.
Also on Friday, clashes were reported on Friday between Palestinian youths and Zionist troops in several areas of the West Bank as part of anti-settlement demonstrations.
Zionist troops fired rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters at Palestinians to quell protests in Beita and Kafr Qaddum towns, as well as the village of Beit Dajan.
