President: Iranian Nation Disappointed Enemies
TEHRAN – President Ebrahim Raisi on Sunday said the great Iranian nation has succeeded in disappointing the enemies, citing the eight-year Iraqi imposed war on Iran and economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic, which the Islamic Republic managed to weather both with a head held high.
Raisi observed a parade held by the Iranian Navy off the coast of the southern port city of Jask on the occasion of the Navy Day.
Accompanied by Defense Minister Brigadier General Muhammad Reza Ashtiani, Army chief Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, and Navy chief Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, the president boarded the Sahand destroyer to observe the parade involving a broad range of vessels, submarines and aircraft.
A number of the watercraft taking part in the parade included Sahand and Alborz destroyers, Fajr-class and Sirik-class frigates, Tonb warship, Hormuz-class landing craft, homegrown hovercrafts, Qadir and Fateh submarines, as well as the naval helicopters squadron.
President Raisi said the Navy should be proud of its manifestations of authority, innovation, and creativity.
The Navy, he said, is very reassuring not only for the security of Iran’s borders but also international waterways, thanks to patrols by Iranian vessels to protect commercial ships from piracy and other attacks.
Raisi also called for a speedy development of the country’s southeastern coasts along the Sea
