U.S. Targets Iran’s Security Officials With Sanctions
WASHINGTON (Dispatches) - The United States has targeted three Iranian security officials under human-rights related sanctions, the U.S. Treasury Department said on Wednesday.
The coercive measures are similar to those adopted recently by the European Union which targeted 29 individuals and three entities with asset freezes and travel bans for their alleged role in Iran’s response to the recent spree of foreign-backed riots in the Islamic Republic.
