Iran to Retaliate Against ‘Unconstructive’ Resolution

TEHRAN -- Foreign Minister
Hussein Amir-Abdollahian on Saturday warned of Iran’s response to the “unconstructive” resolution that the UN nuclear agency’s Board of Governors passed against the Islamic Republic on Thursday.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Omani counterpart here, Amir-Abdollahian denounced the International Atomic Energy Agency’s unconstructive move.
He said the IAEA Board of Governors passed the resolution while a delegation from the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran have traveled to Vienna two weeks ago, held a constructive meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, and agreed on closer cooperation between Tehran and the UN nuclear agency.
The U.S, he added, once again misused the IAEA by drafting an anti-Iranian resolution as part of its efforts to exert maximum pressure on Tehran in line with Washington’s “extremely hypocritical policy”.
“We will take a retaliatory measure,” Amir-Abdollahian warned.
For his part, Foreign Minister of Oman Sayyid Badr Albusaidi described dialogue, understanding and peaceful means as the sole way to address problems and challenges.
