ASADABAD (Xinhua) – A gunman killed one person and injured three others in eastern Afghanistan’s Kunar province on Tuesday, said Mawlavi Nimatullah Hamidi, a senior officer with the provincial police. The incident happened around 9:00 am local time on Tuesday, when Mohammad Hassan fired on a crowd with his pistol, killing one person and wounding three others in Asadabad city, the provincial capital of Kunar, Hamidi told Xinhua. The suspect was arrested by police soon after the shooting and the case was under investigation, the official added. The wounded individuals were taken to the provincial hospital, according to the official.
