Zionist Jets Raid Gaza, More Palestinians Martyred in West Bank

GAZA CITY/WEST BANK (Dispatches) – The Zionist regime’s fighter jets launched several air raids in the blockaded Gaza Strip on Friday, leading to a power outage in some areas, according to local sources.
“The barbaric Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip at dawn today is a blatant act of aggression, and represents an extension of its open war against our people in all the places we exist,” said Hazem Qasem, a spokesman for Hamas.
“Israeli bombing will only make Palestinians more determined to resist the occupation and step up their support for Al-Quds and its people,” Qasem added.
The regime’s military alleged in a statement that it targeted in the early hours of Friday morning a Hamas underground facility, which the resistance movement used for the production of rocket materials in the central Gaza Strip.
It published a satellite photo of what it said was the site, showing an area near several buildings and agricultural plots on the northwest edge of the al-Maghazi refugee camp. It said it was the third such facility hit since April.
The Palestinian Shehab news agency said a “resistance site” in al-Maghazi had been hit. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Pictures shared on social media showed fireballs and smoke in Gaza from the airstrikes. Successive strikes could be seen hitting the same area repeatedly in unverified video footage as jets were heard screaming overhead.
The attacks came after four rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip toward the Israeli-occupied territories on Thursday.
The rocket fire came hours after a member of Islamic Jihad resistance group was killed during a Zionist military rain on Jenin refugee camp in the occupied northern West Bank.
In the West Bank and the Old City of Al-Quds, at least four Palestinians were martyred by the Zionist regime troops on Thursday, making it the deadliest day of violence this week, as 2022 is on course to become the bloodiest year of aggression in the occupied territories in nearly two decades.
Two were killed and four others wounded during a Zionist military raid on a refugee camp in Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The ministry identified one of the victims as 28-year-old Farouq Jamil Salameh, who was shot in the abdomen, chest and head. He was officially pronounced dead shortly after he was transported to a hospital in Jenin in critical condition.
The second one was named as Mohammad Samer Khlouf, 14, from the town of Burqin, who died of wounds sustained during the assault.
Witnesses said a large number of Zionist military vehicles raided the camp in the afternoon, and surrounded a house where Salameh was.
An exchange of gunfire took place during which Salameh was fatally shot and four others, including an 8-year-old child, were slightly wounded.
Earlier in the day, Zionist troops shot and killed a young Palestinian man in the occupied Old City of Al-Quds over an alleged stabbing attack against the regime’s soldiers.
