FM: 19 U.S., European Officials to Be Blacklisted

TEHRAN – The Iranian ministry of foreign affairs is going to blacklist 19 American and European officials and entities for their role in the imposition of sanctions against and incitement of violence in Iran, Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian said Wednesday.
The top Iranian diplomat paid a visit to an organization in Tehran that supports epidermolysis bullosa (EB) patients, who suffer from a group of rare inherited skin disorders that cause the skin to become very fragile.
He was briefed on the appalling condition that the EB patients in Iran suffer from because of the foreign sanctions.
Denouncing Sweden’s refusal to export special bandages for the EB patients to Iran because of the U.S. sanctions, Amir-Abdollahian said, “This is while the American and European officials have repeatedly claimed that the sanctions exclude pharmaceutical products. The sanctions have now turned into a tool for the systematic violation of human rights.”
The minister lashed out at the West for shedding crocodile tears over the death of a young woman in Iran and abusing the feelings of Iranian people for inciting chaos in the country.
He said his ministry is going to blacklist a number of foreign officials and institutions with a role in imposing sanctions against and provoking violence in Iran in the past days.
At least four entities and 15 European and American officials involved in the anti-Iran sanctions and the incitement of violence will be included on the terrorist blacklist produced by the foreign ministry, he added.
In April, the foreign ministry updated the list of senior American officials blacklisted for involvement in terrorism and serious human rights violations.
