Palestinian Doctor Fatally Shot by Zionists While Treating Wounded
JENIN (Dispatches) – Abdullah Abu al-Teen, a doctor working at the Khalil Suleiman Governmental Hospital, died after being shot on Friday while trying to treat casualties during a Zionist raid in Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
Mateen Dabaya, 20, was also killed and five other Palestinians injured during the raid on the Jenin refugee camp.
Sources told the official Palestinian news agency Wafa that Zionist troops had raided the camp, along with dozens of military vehicles, during which they deployed live fire.
The Palestinian health ministry said Teen, who was married with three children, was shot in the head by Zionist troops in front of his hospital.
It was initially reported that Teen, 43, had been killed, but he was later resuscitated, before succumbing to his wounds.
Scores of Palestinians have been killed in recent months during near-daily raids across the West Bank.
Two Palestinian teenagers were shot dead on Saturday during another raid in Jenin, while a 12-year-old boy died on Monday from wounds sustained last month, according to a health ministry toll.
Furthermore, a Palestinian prisoner succumbed to his injuries on Friday at a hospital in occupied territories. Mohammad al-Saeed Ghawadra, 17, from the refugee camp of Jenin had been detained on September 4 in the Jordan Valley.
He was suffering from severe and deep burns covering 90% of his body. According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), Ghawadra was the 232nd slain Palestinian prisoner since 1967.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Palestinians confronted Zionist troops across occupied East Al-Quds as the occupying regime’s troops, using tear gas and stun grenades, made several arrests.
Residents were reported to have taken to the streets in Isawiyah, Silwan, Tur, Ras al-Amud, Shuafat, Jabel Mukaber, Sur Baher and Beit Hanina.
Palestinian sources said Zionist troops rounded up 18 Palestinians from various parts of the city.
Two Zionist officers were reported injured in Isawiyah after 11 people were detained there.
Many Palestinians observed a day of civil disobedience on Wednesday in solidarity with residents of the Shuafat camp in East Al-Quds which is under Zionist lockdown for days.
A general commercial strike was held in East Al-Quds and the occupied West Bank.
The brutal attacks in Jenin have also targeted medical aid workers. Mahmoud Sa’adi, the head of the Emergency Department of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Jenin, said on Friday that the occupation forces have directly shot and injured two aid workers who were trying to transfer one of the injured Palestinians to the hospital.
Ibin Sina Hospital in Jenin also said that one of the emergency workers have been injured by a shot in the neck and transferred to the hospital.
