Children’s Book Experts Join Malaysia’s World Congress

TEHRAN (IRNA) – Representatives of Iran attended the 2022 International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) World Congresses that started work in Malaysia on September 5.
Among 20 others, three Iranians are to deliver a speech to the international congress.
Zohreh Qaeeni, an Iranian woman and the winner of the 2022 IBBY-iRead Outstanding Reading Promoter Award, is invited to the congress for delivering her award and is to give a speech about her activities.
Two other Iranians, Hossein Sheikh-Rezaee and Ali Boozari will also deliver speeches at the world congress.
The 38th IBBY World Congress under the theme of “The Power of Stories” kicked off in Putrajaya, west-central Malaysia, on Monday (September 5) for four days.
Founded in Switzerland in 1953, the IBBY with its 80 sections across the world “represents countries with well-developed book publishing and literacy programs, and other countries with only a few dedicated professionals who are doing pioneer work in children’s book publishing and promotion,” according to ibby.org.
