Top-Rated Filmmaker to Judge at Kazan Muslim Event
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Award-winning Iranian filmmaker Narges Abyar is to judge at the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival in Russia.
The 2022 edition of the event has selected the director as a jury member of the event.
Born in Tehran, Narges Abyar studied Persian Literature and received her B.A. in this field.
Abyar has won awards from many national and international film festivals, including the Best Director award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.
She has penned some 30 books for children, young adults and adults. She has also made several short and feature-length documentaries.
‘Track 143’ and ‘Breath’ are among the female actor’s notable films with the former winning numerous awards in major film events and the latter selected as Iran 2018 Oscar entry.
The motto of the festival is “To the dialogue of cultures through the culture of dialogue”.
Launched in 2005, the festival aims to provide a platform for those working in the field of culture and arts in Russia and Muslim countries to exchange their experiences, and aims to display the creative achievements of the Muslim cinematographers, among others.
The 18th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival will be held in the Russian city of Kazan on September 7-11, 2022.
