TEHRAN – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said here on Saturday that Iran is hoisting the flag of justice and spirituality, adding it is natural for arrogant powers to oppose a country that is brandishing such a flag.
Addressing participants at the 7th Summit of General Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly, Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the Islamic Republic as the most promising force in the face of plots pursued by colonial powers.
“Followers of the Household of Prophet are proud to have taken the most significant step in confronting the system of arrogance and dominion. Much is said but what is actually taking place on the ground is a clear and definite thing. It is the Islamic Republic acting as the flag-bearer in this regard,” the Leader said.
“The flag of the Islamic Republic is a flag of justice and spirituality. Naturally, in a world where actions are based on coercion and thoughts are based on materialism, they react against you when you raise the flag of justice and spirituality,” he added.
Ayatollah Khamenei said Shia Muslims take great pride in standing up to arrogant powers, which interfere in the affairs of other countries, governments, and nations in a cruel and tyrannical manner.
The Leader described Iran’s encouragement of other nations to stand up to bullying as the main reason behind arrogant powers’ wrath and enmity towards the Islamic Republic.
As a result of the Islamic Republic’s struggle, any of the outrageous demands of the arrogant powers have been resisted and rejected, he said.
“The opposition and confrontation of the arrogant and domineering
powers in the world with the Islamic Republic of Iran is natural and inevitable because when you raise the flag of justice and spirituality, they act against you.”
The Leader touched on Iran’s neutralization of criminal U.S. plots in other countries, one of which was the creation of Daesh terrorist group.
This neutralization triggered intense campaign of Iranophobia and Shiaphobia, as well as wild accusations that Iran is meddling in the domestic affairs of other countries, Ayatollah Khamenei added.
The Leader said the United States spearheads global arrogance, adding accusations are being made against Iran as arrogant powers are unable to prevent the remarkable progress of the Islamic Republic.
“Everyone should stand up against the policies of arrogant powers, exercise vigilance and not associate with them,” he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei also said the policy of the arrogant powers is to project unrealistic lines of division among Muslim sects.
The recent incitement and planning for a war between Shia and Sunni Muslims, Arabs and non-Arabs or even intra-Shia and intra-Sunni conflicts are all orchestrated by the United States, he added.
Ayatollah Khamenei said, “The Islamic Republic has always also stood with people who aren’t Shia but are on a right path. In the Muslim world, who has helped Palestine as much as Iran?
“Countries with the same religious denomination as Palestine didn’t help a hundredth of that. At times they even inflict harms.”
The 7th Summit of the General Assembly of Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly is underway here and the northeastern shrine city of Mashhad, and will run through September 4. It has attracted hundreds of guests from more than 110 countries.
The Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly is an international non-governmental organization in Iran.
It was founded in 1990 by a group of Shiite elites in order to identify, organize, educate and support followers of the Household of Prophet Muhammad (Peace upon Him).
