IOOC Increases 500,000 Barrels in Persian Gulf Crude Oil Storage Capacity

TEHRAN (Shana) -- CEO of Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) Alireza Mehdizadeh said on Saturday that the capacity of crude oil storage in the Persian Gulf increased by 500,000 barrels with the operation of the reconstruction and overhaul project of Tank No. 4 of the Behrgan region of Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC).
The reconstruction and overhaul project of Behregan Tank No. 4 was put into operation in the presence of Mehdizadeh, and a number of directors, heads and employees of the company.
During a meeting held for launching the project, the IOOC CEO said that most of the data-x-items used in the project were supplied by domestic manufacturers, adding the project took about 3 years to reach fruition.
According to him, with commissioning this tank, the storage capacity of crude oil in Behregan area increased by 10% and considering that Behregan area is a terminal for import and export of crude oil and gas condensate, implementation of this plan has many advantages.
The CEO of IOOC said that the 250,000-barrel tank of Khark region will come online within the next three months, and the tanks No. 5, 6, and 8 in the Behregan region with a total nominal capacity of 1,300,000 barrels are in the process of tendering and selecting a contractor. With these measures, the operational capacity of Iran’s crude oil storage in the Persian Gulf will increase dramatically.
